Information we collect
- Emails you send us: if you email us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply.
- Usage data: we may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as pages viewed, approximate location (country/city), device and browser type. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
- Technical and security data: our hosting provider (DigitalOcean) and our network and security provider (Cloudflare) process technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
We do not have user accounts, comments or newsletter sign-ups, and we do not sell your personal information.
Cookies
Analytics tools may set cookies to count visits and understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them.
Affiliate links
Some links on GearScored are affiliate links. When you click one, the company you visit may use cookies to record that you came from our site. Their use of your data is covered by their own privacy policies. See our affiliate disclosure.
Third-party services
We use these services to run the site, and each has its own privacy policy: Cloudflare (network, security and email forwarding), DigitalOcean (hosting) and Google Analytics (statistics).
How long we keep data
We keep emails only as long as needed to answer them. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of Google Analytics.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under Canada’s PIPEDA or the EU’s GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you. To make a request, email [email protected].
Children
GearScored is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
