OpenAI has started rolling out GPT-6 to every ChatGPT tier, together with a new feature it calls Intelligent UI that lets answers include interactive charts, buttons, forms and calculators. The rollout began on October 7 for paid plans and expanded to Free and Go users the following day, according to OpenAI.

  • Intelligent UI: depending on the question, ChatGPT can reply with graphics, tappable buttons, forms, editable charts and interactive tables right inside the chat. It can also answer without visuals.
  • Fewer visuals if you prefer: TechCrunch reports you can dial back how many visuals appear, similar to the existing personality settings.
  • Faster web answers: OpenAI says GPT-6 Instant starts answering web-search questions 44% sooner on average than GPT-5.6 Instant.
  • Chat only: the update applies to the Chat experience. OpenAI says the Work and Codex models are not changing with this release.
  • Two tiers of model: Engadget notes that Luna, used on Free and Go, is less capable than Sol on paid plans.

What it means for you

If you use ChatGPT for learning, budgeting or planning, expect more answers you can click and adjust instead of reading walls of text, for example a savings calculator or an editable chart. Free users get GPT-6 too, but the stronger Sol model stays behind a paid plan, so the gap between free and paid ChatGPT is now a model difference, not just a usage-limit difference.

For readers in Canada, OpenAI describes the rollout as global and lists no regional exclusions, so Canadian accounts should see GPT-6 as it reaches each tier. Remember that ChatGPT plans are billed in USD, so the CAD cost moves with the exchange rate (about 1.36 right now), and GST/HST may be added at checkout.
