Updated October 22, 2026. Prices from Cursor’s pricing page and SpaceXSI’s X Subscription docs. CAD amounts are our conversions at 1.41, before tax.
Short answer: Cursor now sells through The X Subscription, a single plan that bundles Cursor, Grok and X Premium. Prices are Free, Plus US$8, Premium US$30, Super US$100 and Ultra US$200 a month (about CA$11, CA$42, CA$141 and CA$282). Premium is the real Cursor plan for most developers. Plus is cheap, but it only gives you Grok models inside Cursor.
This changed on October 12, 2026, when SpaceXSI (formerly xAI), which now owns Cursor, merged its plans. If you already pay for Cursor, nothing changes unless you choose to switch. Read the switching section before you click anything: the move is permanent.

What each plan includes
Free
Limited agent and chat requests in Cursor, plus limited Grok chat and image generation. Enough to see whether Cursor’s editor suits you, not enough for daily work.
Plus (US$8)
One shared usage pool for Cursor and Grok, Grok Chat, Voice and Imagine, Grok API access and X Premium perks when you connect your X account. The catch: Plus only includes Grok models in Cursor. No Claude, no GPT. Plus is also not available for teams.
Premium (US$30)
Four times the Plus usage, the latest Grok models, cloud agents and automations, AI code reviews, Grok Bot and video generation. This is also the first tier where you can pick third-party models like Claude and GPT, but they are billed separately at API list price from the first request, from prepaid credit.
Super (US$100) and Ultra (US$200)
Same features as Premium with 15x and 50x the Plus usage. Super adds priority model access at peak times; Ultra adds earliest access to new products and models. These make sense if you run long agent sessions every day and mostly use Grok models.
The big change: Claude and GPT now cost extra
Under the new plans, Cursor’s included usage covers Grok models only. If you prefer Claude or GPT for coding, you pay API list prices on top of your plan. As examples cited from Cursor’s help pages, Claude Sonnet 5.5 costs US$2 per million input tokens and US$10 per million output tokens, and Opus 5.5 costs US$4 and US$20.
In plain terms: a US$30 Premium plan is no longer “US$30 for everything.” Heavy Claude users should set a spending cap, which Cursor supports, and watch the first few weeks of bills.
Should existing Cursor subscribers switch?
- You don’t have to. Your current plan, price and features continue unless you change or cancel.
- Switching is permanent. Cursor says it cannot be undone, and support cannot reverse it. You get a prorated refund for the old plan and a new billing cycle starts that day.
- You lose included third-party usage. Current subscribers keep their included Claude/GPT usage only until they switch.
- Bought through the App Store? Cancel the old plan in your iPhone or iPad settings, or Apple keeps billing you.
Our view: if you mostly code with Claude or GPT inside Cursor, stay on your current plan for now. If you already pay for SuperGrok or X Premium, or you are happy with Grok’s coding models, switching to Premium can replace two or three subscriptions with one.
Which Cursor plan should you choose?
